Meeting for Worship is a time to let go of the everyday thoughts and worries that can clutter our waking hours. To let our minds be receptive to listen, to feel part of the meeting, to be part of a community all involved in the same activity.
The gathered stillness moves out from each one of us to encompass others, making an expanding ring like rain drops in a puddle. The rings of all those there expand and overlap so that the meeting brings everyone together.
Meeting For Worship every Sunday.
Every other week we start by discussing words like these from Advices and Queries, before settling into gathered stillness. Through these practices, we come together to seek a spiritual wholeness which nourishes our lives.
Quakers have long upheld the equality of everyone, and you are warmly welcome to join us whatever your sexuality, ethnicity, age or gender. Whilst our roots are based in Christianity, we find creeds to be divisive; rather, we find our common ground in the simple practice of sitting quietly together, seeking connection with each other and the divine.
